Pottery Barn Kids Florence Diaper Bag

I often see diaper bags that make my heart skip a beat, but it’s rare that I can actually afford one. Let’s be honest, diaper bags (and bags in general) are pretty pricey! And since I’m a SAHM, we’re on a budget—and extras like “a killer $100+ bag just because I want it” aren’t allotted for. So, when I saw this pretty neutral number, the Pottery Barn Kids Florence bag, and then saw the price tag and realized it was actually in my price range, I was downright elated. Now, I happily carry it with me everywhere I go, and I’ve realized something: It’s every bit as nice and compliment-drawing as bags that cost twice as much.
The light grey exterior with brown faux leather trim is so, so pretty, and it goes with everything. The shape of this bag is really what I love, though—it’s so wide without being unwieldly, and the round handles make it a perfect fit on my shoulder. It opens super wide, which makes finding something inside it easy as pie. (I always have a baby on one hip, which means I’m digging inside my bag looking for a diaper with the same arm the bag is on—and bags with a slim opening make that a daunting task. This one is truly the best I’ve seen in this regard!)
The whole top zips closed, so your stuff doesn’t fall everywhere when you toss your bag in the backseat or accidentally kick it over at the park. Inside, there are plenty of pockets—several elastic-topped ones along the sides, and two nicely-sized zipper pockets. There is also a zipper pocket on the outside. The bag is very lightweight, even when it’s loaded down with my entire family’s needs for a day out.
The Florence comes with a changing pad that I actually use—surprise! I almost always toss the flimsy pads that come with diaper bags, but I really like this one. It’s a nice size, folds up nicely and cleans up easily. The whole bag is easy to spot clean, and it’s water resistant as well. It’s constructed from a cotton and jute blend, making it eco-friendly to boot.
If you’re into monograms, you’ll be happy to know that that is an option for this bag. Overall, this bag is sturdy, stylish and something that I can see myself using for a really long time. I’d easily recommend it to someone who is looking for a great bag at a reasonable price.
