Maxi-Cosi Dana For2 Double Stroller

My husband and I were given the biggest shock of our lives when we found out we were expecting twins! Having a little boy and a little girl at the same exact time just wasn’t on my life radar, and I was completely blindsided by the news. Once a little time passed, I got accustomed to the idea of two little ones joining my family of three and knew I needed to get prepared.
The first thing I knew I needed and wanted was a double stroller. My oldest son Braxton is five and plays soccer and baseball on the regular. I knew we needed something that could get us to all those practices and games in one piece. I also knew I wanted the stroller to make a complete travel system—something I never had with my oldest. Through my research, I came across the Maxi-Cosi Dana For2 Double Stroller, and I knew it was a perfect fit for us. My husband loves baby goods that look sleek and expensive and I love products that are affordable and functional. The Maxi-Cosi Dana seamlessly blends both of our visions. In fact, I’ve never been so excited about a piece of baby gear in my life. Here’s a breakdown of why we love this stroller so much:
Easy assembly
I’ve never seen a stroller go together so easily before. And it’s for two! I remember putting together my first stroller and it being a hot mess to assemble. But this one was ready in two shakes thanks to the easy-to-read manual. The manual also comes in a zippered bag so that you can keep it and refer to it as your babies grow and their seating needs change. The language is easy to understand and there are step-by-step pictures along the way. It actually comes almost fully assembled. All you do is stick on the wheels with a little wrench that’s included in the kit. Then you follow the directions to add on the canopies. Voila! With just a few pins and clicks, we were rolling around the house in no time. I think we had the stroller together in less than five minutes from start to finish.
Functionality and storage
Because the stroller is essentially two-in-one, I was afraid it would be hard to fold and unfold, but it was honestly easier than some single strollers I’ve tried. It can fit easily through almost all doorways, and it fits into the trunk of our SUV with room to spare. The BEST thing about this stroller (and my favorite perk) is that it swivels like a dream. It really moves and navigates with a lot of ease. There’s no way you would think it is a double stroller. The wheels are fantastic!
Another cool feature is the fact that there are three different handlebars that allow you to choose how to drive the stroller. My husband likes to navigate using the middle bar and I like to drive by placing one hand on the right side and one on the left. I feel more in control that way but it works fabulously no matter which technique you try. It also comes with a foot brake that you can lock into place. Aesthetically, the Dana For2 is extremely pleasing. It really does look like a million bucks for a very reasonable price. For a different look, you can turn the fabric on the seats inside out. Super cool feature! It’s really kind of fierce and stands out in a crowd.
Perfect for the babes
I finally got my wish because the Dana 2 works as a travel system. When the twins were infants, I knew I wanted them to be able to stay asleep and move from the car straight to the stroller. With my oldest, our stroller and car seat did not work as a travel system and, though it was manageable, it’s not something I wanted to do again—especially with two babies. So, we were able to get the lightest and best Maxi-Cosi Mico Max 30 infant car seats, which work from 4 to 30 pounds. (The stroller is compatible with any of the Maxi Cosi infant seats.) The Mico Max 30 seats really are extremely lightweight, and they come in a ton of fun colors, which can add a little pizazz if you’re feeling weird about your all-black double stroller. The stroller seats will recline back, and then you just remove the canopies and click in the car seats using the built-in adaptors under the fabric on the stroller. It’s so easy, and I can move those little babes while they’re sleeping without waking them up! It’s a dream!
When they are ready to move to the regular stroller seats, the lining is very comfortable and comes with a five-point adjustable harness that closes easily. There is a great recline available, and the seats are roomy. They are so roomy, in fact, that my 5-year old saw no problem with climbing in and trying them out! And he fit! If you’re not a twin mom like me, but you have a toddler and an infant, this stroller would work for you, too. You can set one seat up regular and one on the infant adapter. I also love that the stroller has two baskets, one for each of my babies under their seat. This helps me keep their things separated, so I’m not searching at diaper- or clothes-changing time.
The only complaint I have about the stroller is that it only comes with one cup holder for me at the top. The babies don’t have their own, so they will need to be in charge of holding their own sippy cups. We do plan to buy additional clip-on sippy cup holders, which will help. Other than that, this stroller is the best in the business.
Extra amenities make for a happy mama
Another amazing bonus that I didn’t have with my first is the fact that all of the stroller fabric is machine washable! This is a dream, ladies! There will be no more scrubbing milk spots and hoping for the best. You can easily unsnap all of the fabric and wash on a cold cycle. It makes me happier than anything else!
The stroller works from birth up to 50 pounds and can be used for children up to 48 inches tall. The stroller weighs 38 pounds, and its dimensions are 32.5″ L x 29″ W x 42″ H when unfolded. I was sure this stroller would be more expensive, so I am very happy with the price. I couldn’t be more pleased with our choice for a double stroller and know you’ll love it, too.
