Mamas, do yourselves a favor and take a gander at the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat. Your search for the perfect transitional car seat is over!

The standout feature of this seat: Your child can now stay safely and comfortably rear-facing up to 50 pounds! This is a big deal for me personally as my baby girl is now 20 pounds and is beginning to outgrow her current car seat. She’s only 8 months old, so to think that she would be sitting forward-facing soon didn’t sit well with me. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that your child stay rear-facing until at least 2 years of age, yet without the option, many parents have gone without the choice. Graco has given parents back their say by adding a three-position extension panel providing 5 additional inches of legroom.

The six reclining positions make your babe’s ride roomier, helping to position their body in a way that suits their preference. My daughter loves to sit straight up to see all that’s going on around her, and this chair will allow it while riding in safety.

The chair literally grows with your child. The rear-facing harness accommodates 4-50 pounds. Or if you want to switch your baby to forward-facing, you can from 22-65 pounds. This seat doesn’t stop there—it transitions to toddlerhood with a high-back booster that works for tots 30-100 pounds. The Simply Safe Adjust Harness and headrest adjust together, perfect for my taller baby who will more than likely grow into a tall toddler.

When I received the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat in the mail, my first reaction was a positive one. Right off the bat, I loved the color. It was a soft lilac—closer to pink. I am not generally a ‘pink person,’ but this one was too pretty to pass on. The aesthetics of the Extend2Fit seat leaves out the busy patterns and sticks to muted tones.

The chair itself is sturdy, without being bulky. It fits comfortably into my four-door sedan. When I first tried installing the car seat, I was pleased to find the one-second In-right Latch System attachment that makes it super easy to click in. OK—now to buckle in my little girl who hates car seats … a success! The Fuss Free Harness truly is just that. It holds the buckle out of the way while I put her in the car. This should definitely be an across-the-board feature! Can I get a witness?Other notable features include its dual cup holders—one for a baby-sized beverage, the other for snack cup or maybe a few toys for the ride. The seat is steel-reinforced but has nice cushions. Almost as soon as I put my baby girl in the seat, I got to see how easily it could be cleaned. I can safely say, spit up is easily wiped away with a damp paper towel. The seat cushion is removable and machine washable, too.

All in all, with a stellar trial run and a reasonable price point, the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat is tough to critique.
