If your seasonal allergies haven’t already clued you in, we’re here to let you know that spring has officially sprung. It’s that time of year when we all emerge from our homes after a chilly winter and bask in the feeling of warm sunshine on our skin, admire the beautiful flowers, and start transitioning our wardrobes from heavy sweaters to airy sundresses.

For those expecting, you may find that the clothing that fit you last spring isn’t feeling quite as comfortable this year. And, depending on where you are in your pregnancy, you’re going to need some bump-friendly warm-weather staples.

Cotton-Blend Seamless Tee

We all need a basic tee, right? The Maternity Short-Sleeve Cotton-Blend Seamless Fabric Tee from Abercombie & Fitch is an excellent option for this classic article of clothing during pregnancy. It’s available in three neutral colors and sizes XXS through XL. Its soft, cozy cotton has a seamless look and just the right amount of stretch to give you a fitted (but not too tight) look.

Signature Bike Shorts

Bike shorts are great for staying comfortable and cool during the hotter months. These will likely become one of your go-to styles as you progress in pregnancy, so we recommend getting a high-quality pair, like Storq’s Signature Bike Shorts. They’re made from a super stretchy, buttery-soft fabric that can be worn under or over the belly, depending on your preference.

Over-the-Belly ‘90s Straight Jeans

‘Tis the season for white jeans, and we particularly like Madewell’s The Maternity Over-the-Belly ‘90s Straight Jeans in Tile White. They’re available in regular and petite lengths, feature an over-the-belly panel, and are that just-right middle ground between skinny and wide-leg jeans. Plus, even though they’re white jeans, they’re not see-through, which is always a win whether you’re pregnant or not.

Maternity Jumpsuit

Finding pieces that combine comfort and style is crucial for any pregnancy wardrobe, which is why we love the Isabel Maternity by Ingrid & Isabel Maternity Jumpsuit. It’s available in either black or green, features a smocked bodice, is crop length, and is sleeveless, so it looks great on its own or layered with a jacket or fun cardigan. Add a pair of comfy sneakers or sandals and you are set.

Gillian Sunglasses

Pregnancy can cause vision changes, so it’s a good excuse to splurge on a cute new pair of sunglasses for yourself. The Warby Parker Gillian Sunglasses are so much fun with their tastefully colorful tortoiseshell frames, but if you prefer to keep things classic, there are two other colors to choose from, too. If your hormones have affected your eyesight during your pregnancy, you can even get them with prescription lenses.

Mara Floral Tie Strap Maternity and Nursing Sundress

If you need a cute and breezy dress to keep you cool and comfortable throughout the warmer months (and you will), invest in one that will work during and after baby is delivered. The Nom Maternity Mara Floral Tie Strap Maternity/Nursing Sundress has a buttoned bodice that adds an adorable flair to the dress, as well as functionality if you decide to breastfeed once baby arrives. This dress also has adjustable tie straps, is fully lined, and has pockets (which we always appreciate). Honestly, we wouldn’t judge you for wearing this dress long after your breastfeeding days are over.

The Desert Cowboy Straw Hat

Channel your inner Beyonce (and protect your face from harmful UV rays) this spring and summer with The Desert Cowboy Straw Hat from Lack of Color. It has a classic beachy style and is available in sizes S through L (it’s designed with an oversized fit, so if you prefer a more snug style, size down). Plus, it’s made with high-quality materials that are meant to last for seasons to come.

Mini Skort Dress

Stretchy, moisture-wicking, and super soft? Yes, please. Old Navy’s Maternity Sleeveless PowerSoft Mini Skort Dress checks all these boxes. It’s available in three colors and sizes XS through XXL, features a built-in bra with removable cups, and has built-in briefs to make things even easier. And, if we’ve learned anything from style influencers, you can wear this athletic dress whether you plan on participating in physical activity or not—just focus on feeling good.

Madrid Big Buckle Sandals

Birkenstock sandals are famous for their comfy, moldable soles, but if you want to switch things up from the standard double-strap Arizona style, we recommend the Big Buckle Sandals. Like most Birkenstock styles, these sandals are available in a rainbow of colors and a variety of metal finishes (hello, multi-color!) and strap materials. Plus, the adjustable straps are ideal for feet that tend to swell throughout the day.

Super Stretch Maternity Swimsuit

Depending on where you live, it may already be pool weather—or you may just be at a point where you’re willing to stand in the backyard under the hose in 70-degree weather just for an opportunity to cool down (thanks, pregnancy hormones!). No matter your situation, Seraphine’s Super Stretch Maternity Swimsuit is worth adding to your wardrobe. It’s available in five colors/patterns, is made from stretchy fabric that’s great for pregnancy and the postpartum period, and it provides full coverage in all the most important places.

Poplin Smocked Tank Set

Who doesn’t love a cute two-piece set? Ingrid & Isabel’s Maternity Poplin Smocked Tank Set offers expecting parents a complete outfit that’s comfortable, stylish, and shows off their growing bump. The set includes a crop-length, stretchy, smocked top and a matching mid-length skirt with a smocked waist that looks adorable over your growing tummy. This set is made from super breathable fabric, available in sizes XS through XL, and is designed to be worn during and after pregnancy.

Double Wall Insulated Water Bottle

If your health care provider hasn’t emphasized this enough, hydration is non-negotiable during pregnancy, especially as the days get hotter and your body sweats more and more. Because of this, it’s helpful to have a water bottle that you can bring with you so there’s always some H2O in reach. We like the Simple Modern Water Bottle because it has double wall insulation to keep your beverage cool for hours, includes two tops (so you can use whatever style you prefer), and holds 32 ounces of water—enough that you won’t have to keep running to refill it, but not so large that hurts your back to carry it.

Hot Shot Onesie

Your focus has probably been on stocking up on onesies for your baby, but you can also grab one for yourself with the FP Movement x HATCH Hot Shot Onesie. This is the maternity and postpartum version of the viral FP Movement style you’ve probably seen all over social media. Unlike the standard style, the maternity onesie features adjustable straps so you can adjust it as needed for your changing body. It’s super cozy, looks adorable layered with a tank or bandeau top, and definitely belongs in your closet.

Linen Maternity Shorts

Quince’s 100% European Linen Maternity Shorts are light, breezy, and comfortable. They’re available in two neutral colors, feature a stretchy smocked waistband, and have a relaxed fit to keep you and your bump comfy. These shorts also have two front and two back pockets, and a 3.25-inch inseam, and look great dressed up or down.

Ribbed Front Pocket Short Sleeve Maternity Dress

Every maternity wardrobe needs a casual t-shirt dress. Pinkblush’s Maternity Ribbed Front Pocket Dolman Short Sleeve Maternity Dress fits the bill with its front pocket, ribbed knit fabric, and slightly oversized fit. It’s perfect for wearing during pregnancy and long after. Grab one in your favorite color (or multiple colors if you just can’t choose), throw on a pair of sneakers and your favorite belt bag, and you are good to go.
