Fresh Fall Finds for Your Kiddo’s Closet

By Published On: October 12th, 2022

Here’s everything we’re buying from head to toe.

Is it just me, or is the idea of cute summer fashion kinda meh when it comes to little ones? Don’t get me wrong, I love a ruffle-bottom bathing suit or some baby blue seersucker shorts as much as any parent, but the combination of sweat and sticky popsicle fingers is enough for me to dress my crew in whatever is easy, breezy, and durable enough to withstand a (very necessary) heavy wash cycle.

But autumn is a different story. The cool, crisp air sends a daily invitation to curate a few OOTDs for my minis. From hats to jackets to boots and beyond, there’s no shortage of adorable duds to shop as the seasons change. So, if you’re on the hunt for fall fashion trends and inspiration, we’ve got you (and your little one) covered.

Play-All-Day Pants

These playwear pants from Tea Collection are made for the “roughest and toughest adventures” with reinforced knees that ward-off holes and extra-strength stitching for lasting quality. They come in a bevy of colors and offer a fit that’s both relaxed and stylish. $42

Comfy Sweatshirt

Bonjour to the most adorable print! Slip this Rylee + Cru fleece sweatshirt into your tot’s daycare bag for keeping warm on chillier days. And for extra flair, pair it with matching joggers and a croissant. $52

Turtleneck Bodysuit

Fall is all about layers, and this long-sleeve bodysuit by Lucy Lue Organics helps dress your smaller babe with less fuss. The turtleneck makes it a must-have staple worthy of buying in all four neutral colors. $28

Knotted Gown + Hat

Even newbies can make a seasonal statement with MakeMake Organics’ knotted gown-and-hat bundle. The buttery-soft organic fabric and kimono-style design allow for comfortable dressing and easy diapering, day or night. $33

Drop-Waist Dress

Hot off the press from Winter Water Factory, the newest collaboration with Amanda Jane Jones features the perfect play pieces for hanging with friends and furry pals. Bonus: The drop-waist design of this dress is great for twirling. $59

Personalized Baseball Cap

These adjustable REY to Z classic hats are available in 11 different colors and prints and can be customized on the front or back (or both!) with your cutie’s initials, or any other meaningful words and images. $24

Velour Overalls

Baby will look picture-day-perfect in this frill overall from MORI. The organic cotton velour feels and looks like velvet, but it’s stretchier, less expensive, and easier to clean—score! $39

Glossy Chelsea Boots

Referred to as the “all-weather wanderer,” these Treklite pull-on rubber boots from Native are water-resistant, made for all types of terrain, and on-trend. My only complaint is that they don’t make them in my size. $65

Floral Bloomers

The bubble bloomer can be a year-round item thanks to the new meadow print from Rylee + Cru. You can match this pretty floral print with a variety of accessories, including a bow, bonnet, and bandana—or create a mommy-and-me look with something for yourself. $39

Ribbed Tights

Keep little legs warm and protected in cooler weather with these ribbed, footed tights by Quincy Mae that add texture, style, and comfort to any outfit. $18

Whimsical Cardigan

Your little toadstool will look like such a fungi—or girl!—in this mushroom-inspired cardigan from Boden. It’s vibrant, comfy, and machine-washable to boot. $64

Sherpa Vest

A vest is a great piece of outerwear for those early autumn days when the mornings are crisp but the afternoons are still warm. Hanna Andersson’s faux shearling vest is lined with a non-irritating cotton jersey to keep your little one’s skin comfortable. $50

Chunky Knit Sweater

A closet staple for kids of all ages, a chunky knit sweater goes with everything and never disappoints. You’ll reach for this oversized, organic cotton pick from Goumikids time after time. $56

Footed Jammies

Fall fashion is for pajamas, too! Kyte Baby’s new harvest-inspired line features farm animals your tot will love, like this chicken-print footie made of soft bamboo rayon. (Let’s just hope baby doesn’t act like a rooster and rise with the sun.) $33

Quilted Jacket

This Patagonia jacket combines form and function by using recycled materials to create a cape-style silhouette that’s insulated and highly durable. What’s more, it’s Fair Trade Certified, meaning your purchase helps to protect and empower workers, farmers, and the environment. $99

Pom-Pom Beanie

Tie any fall ensemble together with The Blueberry Hill’s Percy Hat in Retro. The warm pops of color coordinate perfectly with the warmth it provides your newbie’s noggin. (And aren’t pom-poms the best embellishments this time of year?) This beanie is also sold in an adult size if you’re into twinning with your mini. $29

Striped Legging

No fall wardrobe is complete without leggings, and for quality basics in all the best color trends, I look to Primary. Described as “virtually indestructible” by fans of the brand, their classic leggings (and all other everyday pieces) offer great quality at a fair price. $20

Ankle Socks

Tiny Cotton’s peek-a-boo apple socks are perfect for the apple of your eye. From picking pumpkins to roasting marshmallows to family hayrides, these baby socks are a must for your fall bucket-list. $15

Cozy Clogs

The comeback of the clog isn’t just for teens and grown-ups. These Old Navy baby clogs lined with faux fur come with a buckled elastic strap that’s ideal for easy on-and-offs. $20

All-Season Flannel

What is fall without flannel? And what brand is more synonymous with flannel than L.L. Bean? This classic button-up is a cooler, lighter weight that’s perfect for busy toddlers and can be worn all year over a T-shirt. It’s also made with shrink-resistant fabric, meaning your little one can hopefully get plenty of wear out of their new shirt. $40
