Black-Owned Baby Products to Shop During Black History Month–and Beyond
We've rounded up 11 of our favorite baby goods from Black-owned businesses.
It’s Black History Month, and although we should support minority-owned businesses at all times, there’s a special call to action in February. The annual celebration initially began as Negro History Week back in 1926, a conduit of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), originally founded in 1915 as the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History by historian Carter G. Woodson and minister Jesse E. Moorland. The ASALH was formed to celebrate the achievements of Black Americans and Africans, and soon garnered nationwide appeal with many across the country following their lead.
Several decades later during the Civil Rights Movement, Negro History Week evolved into Black History Month among many Black people. In 1976, it was nationally recognized by President Gerald Ford, and ever since all sitting Commanders in Chief have followed suit.
Here at Pregnancy & Newborn, we are delighted to honor the history of Black Americans, and celebrate our diversity by sharing some fantastic baby products developed by Black-owned businesses. Purchasing one of these items will not only be great for you and your baby, but will also support the companies that work hard to produce quality items for your little one—not just in February, but every month during the year!

Tippy Tot stands by their claim of providing high-quality shoes that are comfortable and supportive. Sizes 3 to 9 months; from $75
