Festive finds for hosting, gifting, and celebrating the holiday season.

It’s no secret that with December comes a lot of social obligations. Regardless of whether you’re an introvert or extrovert, the final days of the year are typically filled with parties, school events, and family gatherings. Throughout the month, we put on our best sequinned-covered party outfits and gather with others to exchange gifts, enjoy delicious food, and toast with holiday-themed cocktails to the end of another long year.

If you find yourself hosting one of these holiday affairs, you’ll likely need to get the house decorated and ready to entertain guests of all ages. For those who loathe throwing parties (*ahem*, me), it’s essential to show appreciation to the person who took one for the team by inviting everyone into their home with a lovely host gift.

We have you covered because holiday hosting is the theme for our December Editors’ Picks. We’ve curated this list of celebration-worthy products with everyone in mind—and hopefully, it will help you check one or two things off your shopping list this holiday season.

Adara Rituals Talia Dreidel Terrarium

Hanukkah runs from December 7 through 15 this year, so if you’re hosting, you’d better order your decor ASAP. This Talia Dreidel Terrarium from Adara Rituals makes creating the perfect tablescape a cinch. It features a gold finish and a design that can be used throughout the year. This little dreidel is so simple and elegant that it’s worth buying even if you’re celebrating alone.

Meri Meri Nutcracker Coloring Placemats

Need a way to keep the kids occupied (and in their seats) during a holiday meal? Set them up with a box of crayons and one of these beautiful Nutcracker Coloring Placemats from Meri Meri. This isn’t your average coloring page, either. The pack includes eight placemats with two gorgeous gold foil designs inspired by the classic ballet. Don’t be surprised if you love the finished product so much that you’d rather hang it on the fridge than have your kiddo get food all over it.

Rifle Paper Company Gift Bags

Bringing a host gift to a holiday soiree? You’ll need some wrapping paper or a gift bag. There are endless options out there, but we particularly love the Deck the Halls and the Laurel Menorah prints from Rifle Paper Company. Each print is available as a small, medium, large, or wine gift bag that features high-quality carrying handles and is made of thick paper to ensure it keeps your present protected. If you’re willing to give them up, these are the types of gift bags that get passed along and reused for years to come.

Baked by Melissa “Let it Snow” Mini Cupcakes Box

Look, not all of us have time to whip up beautiful dishes for potluck parties, and we’re firm believers in outsourcing when it makes sense (and makes your life easier). Skip the baking and have the “Let it Snow” mini cupcakes box from Baked by Melissa delivered right to you. The box comes with 50 bite-size cupcakes in a combination of classic and seasonal flavors, including White Chocolate Hot Cocoa, Cookie & Cream, Christmas Sugar Cookie, Red Velvet, Snowcap, Mint Cookie, and Vanilla Fluff.

Kwanzaa Wine Charm Gift Set

This Kwanzaa Wine Charm Gift Set by the SerendipityWineCharm shop on Etsy will add a little sparkle to your celebration this year. The gift set includes six charms that represent the symbols of Kwanzaa. First is a kinara, a candelabra with seven candles for the holiday’s seven principles: Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), and Imani (faith). Also included are charms representing the Pan-African fag, a unity cup for Umoja, an ear of corn to symbolize Ujima, a drum for Kuumba, and a gift, which is symbolic of Nia. Each handmade charm also features accent beads in the red, green, and black colors of the Pan-African flag. These delicate charms are unique conversation starters that have the added benefit of helping to avoid drink mixups.

Packed Party Disco Drink Cups

Ring in the New Year with these fabulously funky Disco Drink Cups from Packed Party. Available as a single or a pack of six in hot pink (our fave), silver, and rose gold, you can purchase one of these amazing sippers just for yourself or stock up for the party. Each insulated cup holds 20 ounces of your beverage of choice, so if you plan it right, you shouldn’t have to rush for a refill right before the countdown to midnight begins (or the countdown to “midnight,” which is actually 9:00 p.m., if you’re celebrating with little kids).
