I think Jonathan Adler’s designs are the bee’s knees, and the pairing of his style with Skip Hop’s smarts in the launch of the Jonathan Adlers Loves Skip Hop collection has me giddy with excitement.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, Mr. Adler is known for his use of big, bold colors and gloriously groovy graphics in his brand of home- and gift-centric goods. His pieces are striking, luxe and always fun (though I have to admit, mostly out of my price range).
Now, I’m sure most of you are on a first-name basis with Skip Hop (er, Skip?). In my eyes, it’s the maker of some of the most practical baby goods, never failing to provide good design and excellent quality at an incredibly fair price.
So, as I mentioned, these two fantastic brands have joined together, much to my delight and no doubt yours as well. The merging of their talents has resulted in vibrantly printed versions of some of Skip Hop’s classic diaper keepers, including the Duo, which I was lucky enough to take for a test drive.
My bag came in the chevron blue fashion, and it’s safe to say, I’m smitten. Though I would have been pleased with any of the color ways, the rich-but-not-shouting blue hues make me endlessly happy.
Beyond looks, the bag continues to deliver. It’s equipped with stroller straps, a change mat and a handy little zippered pouch. (The mat and pouch come in a different print that coordinates with the bag’s exterior. So fun.) Pockets are plenty, with a two magnetic-closure front pockets (one has pencil/crayon holders), a drawstring mesh bottle pocket, a side flap pocket that’s perfect for a mobile phone or small camera, a large open pocket on the back of the bag, and a zippered pocket that measures the width of the bag and half its height that’s super convenient for easy-access storage of essentials. The main compartment of the bag boasts a magnetic closure and two interior pockets sized for a wipes case, diapers or bottles. Organization, here we come!
The bag is BPA- and phthalate-free (phew!) and is easy to wipe down when messes make their inevitable appearance. The size of the bag is really nice for streamlined outings. It’s not a hold everything tote, but it’s definitely a hold enough things satchel. The bag weighs next to nothing on its own, meaning even when it’s packed to the brim it can be carried over the shoulder or across the body with ease. Of course, it hangs nicely from a stroller as well. However you decide to transport it, ensure it stays near you at all times—many a mom will be envious of this fabulous little accessory. (At an impressively reasonable price point though, truly envious moms can afford to pick up one of their own.)
